Its been quite some time since our last blog post, however I’m pleased to say that it’s because we’ve been busy rather than lazy! Since September we’ve had pontoons all over the country with installs in London, Grimsby, Leicester and Kent to name but a few.
Just as the locations of each pontoon has been varied the uses of each install has been somewhat different too, here’s a quick run down of what we’ve been up to.
For the 4th year in a row we supplied a pontoon for Bright Sparks Fireworks for an annual display in Abbey Park, Leicester, attended by thousands of people. The pontoon was used to house and launch the fireworks from the centre of a lake within the park.
The pontoon supplied in Grimsby allowed workmen to lift an oil pipeline from the seabed and rest it on the pontoon in order to undertake repairs and checks.
We’ve had two installs in London, one was used by Richmond Canoe club who hosted the Haslar Final for 2014 allowing hundreds of canoeists entry to the water for races on the Thames. The other involved installing a working platform outside MTV offices in Camden Lock in order that the current water facing decking could be replaced.
With all this going on and more in the pipeline it seems like it could be a busy winter.
But like they say ‘Being busy is better than being bored.’
