Awkward access
Where locations are awkward to access or environmentally sensitive, we are able to winch platforms into place using our mobile winching equipment – particularly important where root protection zones or maintained grounds are not suitable for heavy lorries. In exceptionally sensitive environmental locations or locations where only pedestrian access is possible, the pontoon system may be broken down to individual modules and carried by hand.
Access by water
Where a pontoon is required but there is no road access we are able to launch separate our pontoons onto the water which can then be motored into place behind one of our deep-water or shall draft support vessels. Slabs are then fitted together on location before being secured.
Lightweight trailers
On projects where, large quantities of pontoon are required but heavy haulage cannot directly access site, we are able to combine heavy haulage with our lightweight trailers towed by 4x4 vehicles. Pontoons can be cross loaded onto our smaller trailers and used to ferry kit to the install point.
Environmentally sensitive locations
In exceptionally sensitive environmental locations, the pontoon system may be broken down to individual modules and carried by hand.
Coastal applications
In coastal applications, it is often beneficial to deliver installations by sea, for which we are ideally equipped using our own fleet of Coastguard coded vessels. We have full time staff qualified to RYA Yacht master (Power) level.
Operating area
Floating Pontoon Hire deliver pontoon installations throughout the UK and Northern Europe. For installations elsewhere in the world, we will put you in touch with local market rental operators.
