On terrain that is predominantly solid the pontoons will follow the contours of the ground offering safe and stable access with edge protection free from trip hazards. However as the ground under foot gets softer and eventually turns to water the pontoon will begin to float offering the same safe and secure access you had over land.
Our pontoons have undergone extensive testing by marine architects ensuring you can be confident in both their strength and buoyancy in tough conditions. One single square metre of pontoon is capable of floating 350kg per sqm when single stacked, or 650kg per sqm when double stacked, meaning they are more than capable of being used to transport tracked plant and machinery such as excavators and dumpers.
Floating Pontoon Hire is used to working in environmentally sensitive zones such as marsh and wetland, and chalk streams. All our equipment is cleaned before such work, and our staff work to minimise any environmental disturbance caused by installation. If access is particularly sensitive, the pontoon can be launched elsewhere and floated into place – using electric outboard motors where appropriate.
The pontoons can be configured in increments of just 0.5 metres meaning they can be built to practically any specification whether its turning corners to avoid obstacles to removing sections of the deck to allow for access below for core sampling and piling.
