Experience

We have significant experience in providing temporary pontoons and floating docks for events ranging from specialist boat shows to large scale high profile events as well as temporary moorings whilst renovation and refurbishment of existing infrastructure is undertaken. Our parent company is a major UK commercial boat operator, and our know-how shows through.

The Commonwealth Games

We were proud to be selected to provide floating docks using temporary pontoon berthing for over 250 boats at the Commonwealth Games Flotilla in Glasgow. We provided temporary docks for mooring at both ends of the flotilla in Greenock and Glasgow. The organising committee were delighted with the consultation process, installation, and efficacy of the pontoon.

Fittings for mooring

All of our pontoon floating docks can be customised with cleats and fenders according to vessel type and supplied in lengths and widths that suited the proposed vessels. We are also able to fit hand rail systems and establish traffic ‘flow’ where required. Access ramps and bridges are specified and installed as required. We are able to install slipways for launching small craft and dinghies, either from our pontoon or from the shore.

Fixing and anchoring

The floating docks are secured in place using a variety of methods suitable for the exact position of the installation; taking account of vessel type and weight, footfall, tidal range, exposure to wind and other factors. We are well experienced having completed many installations is very tidal waters, as well as running rivers, and static canals and lakes.

Scale

Although the images on this page show large pontoons and docks installed for major events, please don’t hesitate to talk to us about smaller projects as we can provide floating docks for all sizes.
