Pontoon Uses /Floating Walkways

Floating Pontoon Walkways

Floating walkways are a great way of providing pedestrian access to lakes, harbours, rivers and canals, or wherever temporary access is required. The inherent buoyancy of floating pontoons provides support to carry pedestrians safely across large stretches of water.

Suitability

A floating walkway is suitable for public and private events wherever accessing or spanning an open stretch of water is required. Pontoon walkways are suitable for very high volumes of pedestrian traffic, and our modular system in particular can be connected and configured into a variety of shapes with different load bearing capabilities.

Easy Transportation

With the modular design of the pontoon system, transportation is simple and construction and installation usually straightforward in the hands of our expert team. It is possible to build a floating walkway 80 meters long and 2 meters wide in just a few hours.

Surface Treatment

A number of different surface treatments are available. Please talk to us about the relative merits of cladding the walkway in wood, rubber matting, carpeting, astro turf or leaving plain in the standard non slip finish.

Handrail systems

We also have a range of handrail systems depending on the purpose of the walkway, the width, the location, the required aesthetic and the duration of the installation.
